Character woodcarvings

Life poses many challenges to us and we must welcome these challenges instead of trying to fight them.

It wasn't until I had been making woodcarvings for a few years that I was given a challenge by an individual that wanted me to carve an angel. She was to be approximately 18 inches tall. When I ask for more information concerning the details... they simply told me to carve her as I envisioned her to be.

This was definitely a challenge to ponder! But the end result was a very surprised and satisfied client.

My " Character woodcarvings" have been a very enjoyable addition to Simple Life Woodcarvings!

 

     Everyone has that special cartoon, icon, or figure that they remember. Perhaps from your childhood or just a favorite as an adult, we all have that little kid in us that we are partial to something. Through making these particular woodcarvings, I've been able to expand my imagination and my outlook on life itself.

     I've found through these " Character" woodcarvings, that they are alot different than animals or fish in the wild. They all have public personalities, if you will, and to capture that is a real thrill for me!

    I remember carving the " Pillsbury dough-boy" for an individual that wanted him 4ft tall ... and after a certain point in the process it seemed that I could hear him saying " Hee-hee" like he does on the commercials! Needless to say... I had a blast making this woodcarving!

    There are so many characters out there that hold a special place in each individual's heart ... that the list would almost be endless. But having them made into woodcarvings is the ultimate experience for me!

    Perhaps you've got one in mind that you'd like carved from wood to remember by. Every time you'd walk by it you'd be reminded of a special time in life that you cherished. We all need to feel like kids at heart every now and then. One thing is for certain... having a character woodcarving made for someone, as a gift would be the ultimate thought!     A reality with all the personality that you want in it. They can be made holding different things or even in certain poses. For example... the Pillsbury doughboy carving had a small "platter-base" that was removable so that my client could display different holiday trays in the carving's hand. This also made the wood carving " usable".

    Remember little " betty-boop", " snoopy", " bugs bunny", "felix the cat", and on and on I could go.

    These characters are what made being a kid... fun! I'm already getting excited about the possibilities of making these woodcarvings. So... whatever you’re desired character should be, you and I are only limited by our imagination. And we can work together to make the impossible ... possible!
